- There was a farmer who lived in a village in Sumatra. One day, he went fishing in the river...
- "Hopefully today I got a big fish."
- He immediately pulled the hook after he felt it moved and was surprised when he heard its voice...
- "Wait, don't eat me! I'll stay if you won't eat me."
- He was even more surprised when it turned to a beautiful girl.
- "I am dreaming."
- "Don't be afraid, I am also a human like you. I owe you because you saved from the curse."
- "My name is Puteri, I don't mind to be your wife."
- The two agreed not to talk about her origin. They got married and a year later the woman gave birth to a boy and named him Putera.
- Putera grow into a healthy, strong, and sweet but a little naughty child.
- "Yes, I will be patient. But, remember, I am near my limit."
- "Please be patient of him. He's a child."
- The farmer who was very hungry and thirsty was patiently waiting for his son to deliver his food and drink but Putera did not come. He immediately goes back to his house but only to find out that his son was playing ball. He became furious and pinched his son's ear.
- "You are really testing my patience! You, son of a fish!"
- After he had spoken those words, both his wife and his son vanished from air without any trace. And at that moment, water suddenly gushed out and is getting heavier making the whole village covered from water. Years later, it was eventually known as the Lake Toba.
