- The doctor introduced himself and then began asking open-ended questions. To get to know the patient.
- Howdy doc, I'm a cowboy as you can see, and about a weeks back, there was a snake in my boot. It scared my horse knocking me off onto my back.
- Hi, I will be your doctor today. what brings you in today?
- Every since then I have had extreme pain in my back and its been almost impossible to work. I need to get back as quickly as possible.

- My friend Buzz told me I could come in and get a few painkillers until my back stops hurting. But I'm afraid of taking anything that is addictive

- If the X-ray shows any damage we may have to plan on having surgery
- I can get you in for an X-ray today and prescribe you Meloxicam which is an non-addictive anti inflammatory. To help with he pain and reduce swelling
- We can look into prescribing an anti-inflammatory to help manage the pain, since the pain has persisted for a few days I want to get some imaging done.
- Right now I can't take off work we have 3 weeks left in the season so surgery is not an option right now. The farm is short handed already and if I cant work, I don't know what they would do.

- I happened to walk by our on sight PT and asked her to write up some exercise/ stretches you can do to help relieve your back pain on top of the meds.
