  • Hellooo to whoever is watching or seeing this. Anyways as you can tell I’m a tree let’s pay to much attention to that though. Today by request I am here to talk to you about multiplying and dividing fractions since a certain someone doesn’t know how to, teehee. Helping me with this lesson I have my trusty friend Bob, he’s a rock as you can tell. But anyways let’s get into it.

  • Now after transporting to a class (don’t ask how I did it) I’ll first explain dividing fractions. When dividing fractions, it’s pretty simple. All you really have to do is flip the numbers to the second fraction and change the division to multiplication. An easy way to remember this is keep, change, flip.
  • Slide: 3
  • Let’s practice with an equation, we’ll use 3/4 ÷ 6/8. We’ll use the keep, change, flip method. First, you're going to keep 3/4 as it is. Then you’ll change the division symbol to the multiplication symbol. Lastly what you want to do is flip the numbers 6/8 to 8/6 or the reciprocal of 6/8 and don’t worry about it being an improper fraction.
