My father was a wealthy farmer, but I never met him because he died 3 months before I was born. So now i live with my grandparents.
I went to Cambridge University in 1661 studying mathematics and science

What is GRAVITY? How does it affect us and other objects like that apple on the tree
So I understood that GRAVITY was the force of attraction between 2 objects with mass. The more mass an object has the greater the force it exerts. So the large mass of the Earth pulls the apple towards it and it falls DOWN not UP.
I thought that maybe GRAVITY was not just confined to Earth but acted on all objects throughout the entire universe
i calculated the force needed to keep the Moon orbiting the Earth, then I compared it with the force that made the apple fall. After allowing for the increased distance of the Moon from the Earth and the fact that the Moon has a much greater mass compared to the apple, I discovered that the forces were the same.
