Either we end unsustainable population growth, or it ends us. Population growth can end without human intervention, but we may take the extinction of indispensable species and the destruction of valuable ecosystems down with us.

“We are in a bottleneck of overpopulation and wasteful consumption that could push half of Earth's species to extinction in this century.” -E.O. Wilson, conservationist.
The size of the human population has significant effects on the environment, with an increasing demand for resources and space. The rise can also lead to pollution, excess carbon emissions, and deforestation, decreasing ecosystem and worldwide biodiversity. A decrease in biodiversity will further affect human life, affecting the population and causing a downward spiral.

Further incentivizing having fewer children and the promotion of birth control methods, which are government measures, will help to further reduce unsustainable population growth. However, on a small scale effort, what will you do to help prevent the mass genocide of each other?
