  • The Nuremberg trials were held for a couple reasons. One of them was the deterrence of future war crimes as this set the precedent that leaders could be held accountable for their actions during war time. Another was to create a record of the crimes and how extensive they were.

  • Following the war many African-Americans came home and continued to face discrimination. This helped to spur the civil rights movements that were throughout the country.
  • The years following WWII have been great for the economy. The increased employment and industrial advancements brought the U.S. out of the depression.
  • WWII led to many new technologies that changed how the world worked. The main one was the nuclear technology that had just started to be utilized. The advancements made also set the U.S. apart as a world superpower
