The fall of Jerusalem created the 3rd crusade. The 3rd crusade happened in 1189. This crusade was organized by the rulers of England, France, and Germany. This crusade was called Crusade of Kings. Richard 1 was the leader of the 3rd crusade.
Saladin and Richard signed a truce. The truce then ended the 3rd crusade. Saladin agreed to respect crusader's lands and Pilgrims were free to travel anywhere. But Jerusalem was in Muslims hands still. Saladin failed to hold Jerusalem Muslims got it back.
