This is the opening scene in act one. Betty is lying in the bed, unable to wake, and her father Reverend Parris, is in crisis, praying she wakes, and interrogating his niece Abigail, who is claiming she knows nothing about what happened. The were told there is no medical reason for her coma. This is when they begin to question if she was possessed.

Betty, Abigail, and Tituba in the woods being seen conjuring spirits. This was the scene depicted of what Reverend Parris claimed he saw them doing in the woods. This contributes to the question of their involvement in witchcraft.

Reverend Hale is question Abigaill on what her and Betty were doing in the woods, she points blame at Tituba for pressuring them into joining her witchcraft. Tituba denies at first, but then later confesses to her doings, and confesses to God, and repents while giving herself to God. This scene shows more of who Abi is, and her true colors, and character comes out in this scene, she was persistent on maintaining her reputation.
