- We arive in Jamesown May 13, 1607. After taraveling for 4 months, we chose a site where we were going to live and look for gold. We had two main leaders of our expidition Bartholomew Gosnold, and John Smith. Our team was well experienced, and we had good leaders. We also had modern weapons and armor. We were sure to find gold.
- The Indians were not the only thing trying to bring Jamesestown down. We also came face to face with starvation, and saltwater poisining. Saltwater poining was a poisoning from taking in too much saltwater. Taking in as much saltwater as we were led to dehidration cause the body to take water from the organs and eventually killing them from dehidration
- We started our search for gold thinking we were welcome in land we were searching. Until one of our soldiars was shot strait in the back from here on out we knew we weren't welcome and no one was safe here.
- Pocahontas and her father help us a lot, but not for free. Jamestown had not found gold but did find jewls and other trinkets, but despite this they were still dying from starvation. These jewls did not have any worth if they still had a 70% death rate a day. So, they made a truce with Pocahontas and her father, We gave them the jewls in exchange for food. This was a huge help, Until they were cut off in the winter of 1609-1610. We called this period the starving time
- After Bartholomew died early on John Smith became the main leader of the group. For a while we were all getting fed by Phocohantas and Cheif Powhatan before they cut us off. That is when John came up with the new policy no work, no food. John had taught them how to farm and fish. This made it so everyone who was working for their food lived and those who didn't died. He had been very prepared and helped the jamestown colony get through one of their hardships. After all of this he died of an illness
- John Ralphe had not been one of our leaders but one of the most inportant people that brought us to success. He was the first person to experiment growing tabacco. He was also known for dating cheif Powhatans daughter pocohantas. he tried many ways of growing tabacoo but failed. He ended up using seeds and growing the first profitable tabacoo.
- The tabacco that John Ralphe had been growing ended up being what saved Jamestown. Jamestown had certainly been through a lot. We lost most of our leaders early on, we had been through various illnesses, we were targeted and hunted down. we had origanaly came here to find gold and never found it. Even after we still found a way to succeed by growing tobacco and selling it.
