- Liebe Fanny , Mutter, Malia, Vogela und ich habe alle nach Amerika gekommen . Wir trafen Louis und Jonas in New York City. Sie haben väterlichen Betrieb fortgesetzt. Bisher hat New York die Waren hausieren Geschäft gut behandelt. Und du, hörte ich , dass Sie ein David Stern , Mazel Tov verheiratet !! Was mich betrifft, ich bin derzeit in Kentucky , wo ich auch auf den elterlichen Betrieb durchgeführt haben . Da ich vor kurzem die amerikanische Staatsbürgerschaft und denke über den Umzug nach San Francisco , als auch erworben haben. Können Sie die Nachrichten über alles Gold glauben gefunden zu werden? Ich konnte es nicht glauben, als Louis mir gesagt . Ich denke an den Gruben hinunter und mein Glück zu testen. Ich weiß , dass Sie mich denken, ein Narr zu denken, dass ich Gold finden konnte, aber ich bin bereit sowieso zu versuchen. Ich hatte gehofft, dass ich mit Ihnen und David für eine Weile bleiben konnte. Aber keine Sorge , ich werde nicht lästig sein . Sie werden nicht einmal wissen, dass ich da bin . - July 1872 Mr. Strauss, "The secratt of them Pents is the Rivits that I put in those Pockets and I found the demand so large that I cannot make them up fast enough. My nabors are getting yealouse of these success and unless I secure it by Patent Papers it will soon become a general thing. Everybody will make them up and thare will be no money in it. Therefore Gentlemen, I wish to make you a Proposition that you should take out the Latters Patent in my name as I am the inventor of it." Sincerely, Jacob Davis

- He's a Jewish tailor from Latvia, but he currently lives in Nevada. He began using rivets and canvas to create durable working pants. He's been using our cloth, and now wants to write up a patent for his pants.
