  • Thing in the water
  • I am Anton Van Leeuwenhoek. It is the year 1675, and It seems I have found these swimming... animals? Yes! Animalcules! I found these Animalcules using my simple microscope! ( Animalcules are what we call protists today)
  • Animalcules? I think not!
  • I am Robert Hooke. It is currently the year 1675 and I am currently looking at a cork using a Compound Microscope (Two lenses). And what I am seeing is something.. rather odd. It looks a lot like a lot of monk cells. Yes, that is it! I will call these tiny things, Cells!
  • Microscopes.
  • WOW! This microscope can zoom in so much farther than it could 200 years ago!
  • Similar cells.
  • I am Mathias Schleiden, and it is sometime in the 1830s. I recently noticed that all plants have similar looking cells! As Well as the shape and color. I did use my compound microscope to figure this out.
  • Animal cells.
  • I am theodor schwann. It is sometime in the 1830's, and during my research of animal cells, I learned that cells were the building blocks of all living things. I also learned that each type of cell has a specific function. I did all of this using my compound microscope.
  • The confirmation.
  • I am rudolph Virchow and it is the year 1858. I am currently looking at all of the scientists work that have worked on cells. And what i've learned from all of this is that all cells do come from preexisting cells! All I had to do was use my compound microscope!
