- Hi my name is Ellie. I am 7 years old and in 2nd grade. I love school and my family very much. I have 1 brother, a Mom, and Dad. I also loves her school friends very much. My favorite color is purple and I loves to color whenever I can.
- I am just coming home from school. This is my favorite part of the day. My mom is always waiting for me with a yummy snack.
- Oh Ellie, i'm afraid I have terrible news. Your brother was brought to the hospital today and he didn't make it. I know this is really hard but it will be okay.
- Hey Mom! I'm home. School today was lots of fun, what are we eating today?
- Ellie is distraught. She never thought anything like this could happen to her. Plus, she did not even get a chance to say goodbye to her brother. She questioned if she would ever be okay again, she had never experienced the loss of a loved one before.
- How could this happen!?
- Nooo, I miss him so much and I will never get to see him again.
- 6 Months Later:
- Hey guys! The loss of my brother was very hard to deal with at the beginning ,and is very troublesome to the day, but now I am able to see that he is truly with me everyday and I am stronger than ever. I can take whatever comes my way in life and I am more prepared for whatever those situations may be.
- I think the largest things I have learned from losing him last year was that when times get hard you have to know that it will all turn out okay and it helps to have confidence that you will make it through. I use that advice every day when I wake up.
