Britain and France had been enemies for hundreds of years, and have fought many harsh wars. In the 1750s they went in war again. This time for the Ohio River Valley. The British and France wanted the land because of the Indians to trade with.

It all began when a crowd of people started throwing snowballs and yelling insults at a british soilder. Then more soilders started arriving. Then one of them fired a shot. Then sevral others fired. Five colonists were killed.
Battle of Bunker Hill (1775)
In 1773,parliament passed out the tea act.The tea act made tea cheaper than smuggled tea. On one night several dozens sons of liberty boarded the ship illegally. They threw the tea crates into the Boston Harbor.
The Declaration Independence (1776)
In 1775 many colonists felt that the intolerable acts were to harsh. Soon Genaral Thomas Gage learned that the Patriots were storing gunpowder and cannons. On the night April 18,1775 an army of 700 soilders were sent to destroy all of their stuff.
The battle of Bunker Hill in Charlestown was the first major class between large numbers of British soilders and Patriots militia. Britian ship's cannons could not break the walls of there fort. Then the Patriots ran out of gunpowder so they ran away.
After the battle of 1775, the American colonies and Britain were at war. Some people wanted King George ||| to rule, but many wanted freedom. John Adams strongly argued for independence. Soon they declared the Declaration of Independence.
