- Antigone is becoming upset with Ismene when she will not agree to do the right thing which is burring their brother. Ismene disagrees with this in fear of the law.
- “I should not want you, even if you asked to come. if I must die, I say that this crime is holy: I shall lie down With him in death, and I shall be as dear to him as he is to me.”
- But think of the danger! Think what creon will do! (34)
- His own brother, traitor or not, and equal in blood. (111)
- Antigone is fighting with creon because, ether way Polyneices and Eteocles were her brothers and she loves them equally. Antigone believe they both should have the same respect but creon does not
- An enemy is and enemy, even dead.(117)
- Yes. Save yourself. I shall not envy you There are those that will praise you. I shall honor you too. (144- 145)
- Ismene is showing her loyalty for wanting to die with Antigone even those he has done nothing wrong.
- What do I care for life when you are dead? (140)
- One has lost her mind and the other seems so have never had one at all. (128 - 129)
- I do I deny nothing. (52)
- Antigone has full pride in what she did even if it does defy the law. Creon only believes the morals of law and not family.
- And yet you dared defy the law. (57)
- Antigone is willing to die for the right of her brother. She doesn't have anything more to give and Creon wants nothing else.
- Creon what more do you want than my death. (93)
- Nothing. That gives me everything. (94)
- All these men here would praise me, were their lips not frozen shut in fear of you. (100-111)
- Antigone has pride that everyone else agrees with her decision for her brother unlike creon.
- You are alone in that opinion. (103)
