As teachers, the best thing we can do is allow our students to feel safe and confident. Encouraging democracy in classrooms will enable students to build confidence and create a positive impact in their lives.

Showing students the importance of democracy in schools is one of the ways that we can prepare them for the real world. We should start teaching students as young as preschool the value and importance of expressing their opinions.
Democracy could be as simple as students deciding where to sit, who to choose for a project or what activities they would like to engage in for the day.
