Hello everyone , today I'm going to show you how pizza travels in your body .Let's begin !!
Wow ,I'm so exited ...
We are first going to start off at the mouth which is where the process starts and where all the chewing and breaking down of food takes place. Over here the food is broken down into smaller pieces by teeth and the salivary gland where salivary enzyme is present it breaks starch into maltose .
Now the food travels the esophagus where food's final destination is stomach .
After getting out of esophagus now pizza is in stomach where the gastric gland i,e 1. Hydrochloric acid kill all the bacteria . 2. Pepsin digests proteins into smaller components . 3. Mucus protects the inner lining of the stomach from the corrosive action of Hydrochloric acid.
In duodenum 1. Bile juice →(a) Makes the medium alkaline for the action of Pancreatic enzymes. (b) Breaks down large fat molecules into smaller globules so that enzymes can act upon them. (Emulsification of fats) .2. And pancreatic juice ▪ Amylase Acts on carbohydrates ▪ Trypsin →Acts on Proteins▪ Lipase → Acts on Fats .In jejunum no digestion takes place . In Ileum Converts Carbohydrates to glucose Converts Proteins to Amino acids Converts Fats into Fatty acids & Glycerol (Final Products of digestion)
In large intestine Undigested food goes into it. ∙ Some water and salt are absorbed by the walls of the large intestine. After that, the undigested food goes to the rectum, from where it is expelled out through the anus. ∙ Large Intestine absorb excess of water. The rest of the material is removed from the body via the anus.
And here the digestion process also ends ...
