Water cycle part one

Storyboard Text

  • Slide: 1
  • This is Bay, she is in charge of her little brother Koi for the day on the plant, when she realizes he's missing.
  • The Water Cycle
  • Oh no! Koi was just here a second ago! I have to find him!
  • Slide: 2
  • This process is called condensation. It is where water vapor (a gas) in the air cools and changes into tiny liquid water droplets or ice crystals, forming the visible clouds we see in the sky when they collect together.
  • Brrr, it's cold up here! Wow, there are so many raindrops here that we're creating a cloud, but no Koi. I guess i'll condense into a piece of snow and fall on that glacier over there.
  • I know! I will leave the plant through transpiration, with the plant turning me into water vapor because of the sun! Maybe he's hiding in the clouds. Up, up, and away!
  • As you see in the picture, Bay is turning into water vapor. This means she is evaporating through the plant. This process is called transpiration, it's where a plant releases water vapor from heat energy.
  • Slide: 3
  • Our water droplet came from a glacier and became runoff. She ended up in this river and she is now evaporating. This process happens when heat energy (the Sun,) beams on the water and it turns into water vapor.
  • Whee! That was a fun fall but now I am a part of a glacier. I guess I will have to wait for it to melt!
  • I finally melted from the iceberg! Koi is a pretty good hider, maybe I should evaporate using the sun's heat energy and check the clouds again. maybe I can find raindrops that have seen him.
  • This process is called runoff. Bay, now a snowflake, landed on a glacier. It could not absorb her and melted.
