- Characters Ponyboy Curtis, Darry Curtis, Sodapop Curtis, Johnny Cade, Dallas Winston, Two-bit, Bob Sheldon, and Cherry Valance
- Conflict
- The two main conflicts are man vs. himself and man vs. society. Ponyboy faces these in the story.
- ExpositionPony boy is walking back from a movie. The reader then than learns about the greasers and the soc's. Some soc's start to jump Ponyboy but he is saved by some other greasers.
- Rising ActionWhen the soc's pull up on Ponyboy and Johnny, Johnny stabs one of them and kills Bob. Johnny and Ponyboy flee and the tension between the soc's and greasers intensifies.
- ClimaxIt is when the church fire takes place and Johnny saves the children and is severely injured.
- Falling ActionJohnny ends up dying from the injuries and the greasers win the rumble, Dal also dies.
- ResolutionPonyboy reconciles with his brothers and finally doesn't fee like an outsider.
