- There was once a rabbit named Edward Tulane who was almost entirely made of china. He was owned by a 10 year old girl named Abilene Tulane. He and Abilene's family lived in Memphis, Tennessee. She loved him so much that she took him wherever she went. Edward had my journeys throughout his life.
- Abilene and her family were going on a trip to London by boat. On their second day on the boat, two brothers named Martin and Amos came to Abilene and started asking questions about Edward. They were very interested in Edward. They took off Edward's clothes and kept tossing him to each other. By accident, he got tossed overboard.
- Edward was in the see for a very long time. One day a fisherman named Lawrence, found him and took him to his wife named Nellie. They both really liked him. One day their daughter named Lolly came over and threw Edward in the thrash.
