Storyboard Text

  • Proclamation of 1763 October 7, 1763
  • After the Indian and French war, the British put a line that cut off any westward expansion by their colonies. The Americans found this unfair so they just ignored it by passing the line. This caused the British to push back the Americans but this didn't stop them from breaking the law.
  • Give us our land that you guys promised to give us!
  • Stay away from west of the Appalachian Mountains
  • A act of the British Parliament that had imposed new taxes on the colonies to help repay Britain's Seven Years' War debt and cover the costs of protecting the colonies. This made colonist have to pay a tax on all paper products making them angry and protest against it. There were no colonial representatives in Parliament.

  • Boston Massacre March 5, 1770
  • Acts after acts, colonist were angry about taxes imposed by the British government. This caused them to go into war. The colonist threw rocks and snowballs to the soldiers as insults. This lead to 9 British soldiers firing at five Americans colonist resulting in death for revolting against them. News spread around the streets of Boston Massachusetts leading 8 soldiers and their commander to go into jail.
