  • The Russian Revolution Timeline
  • In the 1905, Tsar refused to withdraw from a humiliation war with Japan.
  • This sparked a massive civil war across the country and Tsar agreed to form an assembly known as the Duma.
  • On March 15 1917,Tsar gave up his power and left Duma to govern Russia.
  • Bolsheviks then used their advantage and appealed to the Russian people for support.
  • Trotsky had once became a vocal critic of Lenin and his Bolshevik faction of the Russian Social Democratic Workers Party. In August, Trotsky joined the bolshevik movement
  • The bolsheviks made changes that established communities in opposition to capitalism.
  • In 1917 the bolsheviks took control of the capital of Petrograd under the lead of Lenin.
  • In 1918, Russia signed a treaty with Germany and ended the German invasion and Russia was no longer part of the word war.
  • By removing Russia from the conflict, the revolution changed the dynamics of the world war.
  • By 1922, both the world war and the Russian civil war were over and Russia became a nation state.
  • Lenin died in 1924, Trotsky was removed from power the communist leadership continued under the new leader of the soviet Union, Josef Stalin.
  • When I came to power, Trotsky was dropped from the central committee.
