- The Mier y Teran Report was made in 1829. General Manuel Mier y Teran was sent by the Mexican government to Texas to see if they had been following the rules. Once he got there he was surprised to see that none of the rules that had been set were being followed. Since none of the rules were being followed he wrote a report warning them that if they did not start following the rules a revolution might begin.
- Goliad Massacre
- Stephen F. Austin was arrested on December 11, 1833. He was accused of treason but, he was not ever formally charged or tried in court. He was arrested by the Mexican government on his way home.
- Runaway Scrape
- The cannon originally belonged to Mexico but they gave it to Texas. They wanted it back but the Texans said they were going to have to "come and take it". That started the battle of Gonzales and 1 solider was killed.
- Battle of San Jacinto
- Where it took place
- After the Texans surrendered the Mexicans took them captive. After a while the Mexicans moved the Texans to Victoria and they thought that they were going to be released. Instead the Mexicans killed everyone besides Fannin. After they killed everyone that sat Fannin in a chair. Fannin made 3 request before the Mexicans were going to kill him but they did not follow any of them and shot him in the head.
- The Goliad Massacre was a warning that Santa and was coming to Texas. So the Texans packed up and ran away. After they stayed at a city they would burn it down so there were no supplies left for the Mexicans. Their goal was to make it to the United States to get help so they could fight back.
- During the Battle of San Jacinto the Texan army found the Mexican army while they were sleeping and defeated them easily. That's when Texas gained their Independence.
