- The narrator introduced that Fortunato his enemy and he wants revenge against him. But Fortunato is completely oblivious about Montresor hatred. Montresor also narrates that Fortunato is wine taster.
- Climax
- *Throws the link of chain around his waist*
- Montresor invited Fortunato to his catacomb to taste his Amontillado for legitimacy, and Fortunato is intoxicated and unaware at this point.
- Falling Action
- Fortunato!
- Montresor and Fortunato goes deeper and farther into the eerie catacomb. Montresor offer to go back but Fortunato argue back and resist to keep going even when his sickness worsen.
- Resolution
- *Plastered the last stone into position*
- Montresor chained Fortunato to the wall of Catacomb and start building a wall of stones, and he ignores Fortunato's cry for sympathy.
- Ha! Ha! A very good joke.
- Fortunato stop screaming and Montresor only hears the jingle of of the bells of Fortunato's costume.
- *Bell Jingles*
- Montresor finish sealing the wall that traps Fortunato so not a soul can finds Fortunato.
