- The inmate had been in jail for a long 7 years. He woke up one day did his morning stretch and looked around. He found a monkey's paw just sitting there on the bars. He was confused what it was doing there and how it got there.
- The guard tried to stop him but was to late. The inmate grabs the paw. He doesn't know what to do or what the paw could do. He tries to wish for something. The inmate says "I wish to be free from prison."
- The inmates wished worked but he was confused. The guard and his cellmate were with him. There was nothing. No people, no animals, buildings, there wasn't even roads. They all just sat there in disbelief.
- After hours of walking and complaining that there was nothing they finally found some buildings. They all looked the same and every single house had nothing in it. It was just a whole bunch of empty houses.
- Even after those hours of walking and finding houses there still was not a single person or animal that they have seen. But the inmate realized that he had something in his pocket, it was the monkey's paw. He quickly wished for everything to go back to normal even if that meant being back in prison.
- The inmates were sad but happy at the same time. They couldn't of been more happy to see all the inmates and all of the guards. They may be in jail for the rest of their lives but at least there's people to talk to and interact with.
