  • The March of VersaillesOn October 15 1789, angry women paraded the streets, marching toward Paris. They were heading to the palace in Versailles to express their anger toward the king and the queen, demanding bread alongside a meeting with the king.  Their anger was caused by Queen Marie Antoinette who was known to be very extravagant. Due to this trait, they blame her for the financial crisis present in the country. The royal family moved back to Paris in the Tuileries Palace as per the request of the angry women. However, this led to them being taken as prisoners by the revolutionaries for 3 years.
  • The Reign of TerrorFrom July 1793 to July 1794 a time of true terror was led by one man named Maximilien Robespierre. This was a time when no one was safe from being executed by a guillotine, hence why many lived in fear at this time. During the reign of terror over 40,000 people met their end at the hands of the guillotine including the King and Queen. Fortunately, Maximilien Robespierre was arrested on July 27th, 1794, and executed the next day. A fitting end,the reign of terror ended with the death of the man who started it. 
  • The Rise Of NapoleonNapoleon was a man who truly thrived in the military. Even in his earlier years he showed great passion in the military, he began training when he was 9 and then a Lieutenant at 20. Throughout his career, he desired to be a leader, and this was not all talk. During his time he scored numeral military successes against different countries such as Austria, Britain, and Prussia. Later on he became a strong leader who overthrew the directory and made the consulate, then even became emperor of France. During his leadership Napoleon made France a prosperous nation, controlled prices, built canals , railroads, and public schools.
