These theories were primarily related to the organisationalenvironments. They focused on specific organisational problems in specificways. As each manager had his own way of viewing the organisation, someemphasised on production and others on human relations.
The next era is the CLASSICAL ERA.It is the oldest theory of management and is, therefore, called the traditional theory of management. The classical viewpoint finds waysto manage business organisations effectively. It includes management theoriesthat provide foundation to the study of management. It is the first steptowards the study of management as a distinct field of study.
Three main theories that developed in the classical schoolof thought are:Taylor’s Scientific Management Theory, Fayol’s Classical Organisation Theory and Weber’sBureaucracy Theory.
Fayol's Administrative Theory. Fayol focused on managing the organization as a whole rather than lower levels of organisation only.
Max Weber's Bureacracy theory. Max Weber introduced the rational-legal authority system to manage the business organizations
Taylor’s Scientific Management Theory is finding the best way of doing each task/job by eliminatingoperations that resulted in wastage of men and materials.
The next era is the SOCIAL PERSON ERA. there are two important theories involved. the BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE THEORIES and THE HUMAN RELATIONS THEORY.
Human relations theory focuses on the individual behavior and needs. It emphasizes the on intrapersonal relationships. It views group conflicts as a negative force.
Behavioral science theory focuses on grouip and group behavior and emphasizes the group relationships. It also vieiws the group conflicts as a source of new ideas and innovations.
