  • The 1960's one of the most memorable changes in human history, with evolution in music with the Beatles, The legendary space race, and fads between children such as cartoon's and Barbie dolls.
  • This story is about our famous race to space against the Soviet Union, one of the greatest fights due to the cold war.
  • In 1958, the U.S. created NASA, and started their fight with The Soviet Union to prove superiority in technology.
  • By 1964, the U.S. has expanded NASA almost 500%, and have launched multiple astronauts into space, put satellites into space, and has plans to put a man on the Moon before the end of the decade.
  • Unfortunately, with exploration as dangerous as this, there were a few fatal accidents. In 1967, NASA launched the Apollo 1, which caught on fire and was one of the largest setbacks in this historical race.
  • In 1969, the U.S.A successfully landed on the moon with the Apollo 11, which effectively showed the Soviet Union they had won the Space Race. Starting one of the greatest achievements in human history.
