- Lent is a time to Pray, Fast, and Almsgiving. We do this because Jesus fasted in the desert for 40 days and he was praying to God for those 40 days. He also helped the poor every day tobe nice.
- Jesus Praying And Fasting
- Jesus helped the poor in any way he could even if he could get himself sick, like when he did that with the leapers, he cured all of them risking himself getting sick and only one came back and said thank you.
- Jesus Giving Food To The Poor
- Jesus prays a lot to to God even when he isn't in the desert. He probably prays more in a month the a average catholic would in a year.
- Jesus Fasting in The Desert.
- Even though it looks like Jesus is only Praying He is also giving up food and water to devote the time to God. Fasting is when you give up something you love for 40 days like Jesus did in the jungle
- Jesus does more than just cure people he also feeds the poorest of the poor even though he doesn't have that much money to feed himself. Almsgiving is when you help the unfortunate by either charity or by giving them food.
- While Jesus was in the desert he met the Devil and the Devil tried to make him eat and go back to town but Jesus kept fasting and praying for 40 days.
