- There were many motivations for moving west and getting a lot of land was one of them, people thought that the more land you have the more power you have so people wanted to go west and get land.
- I think it is time we go to the west! I want that land!
- I think that is a good idea!
- If people brought a lot of stuff on their wagons then they would not be to go that far because it would be weighing the oxen down.
- You can't bring all of your toys, it will all way down the wagon.
- Oh, ok.
- When people were traveling West they would go on wagons on the Oregan Trail. They would use Oxen to pull the wagons. It wouldtake a long time to get to Oregan.
- Why is it taking so long?
- The Oregon Trail is very long, so it will take a little bit to get there.
- Independence rock was a big landmark for people that were travelingthe Oregon trail. It has become one of the most famous ones today, all ofthe people that would go to the Oregon trail and got to Independence rock before 4th of July new that they were on schedule.
- That's Independencerock!
- Why did we stop next to that big rock?
- The men in the wagon trains would hunt for the families so then theywould have enough food to eat.
- Yes!
- Yay! We made it to Oregon Country!
