  • (Kaden Mapes P: 3) 1:Population
  • 2: Overproduction of Offspring
  • 2: Genetic Variation
  • Dinosaurs are highly populated in the Jungle. There are many different types of dinosaurs, some being more fit than others. The climate of the jungle stays about the same year round.
  • 4: Competition & Natural Selection
  • During the summer time, more offspring are produced (mating season). The overproduction of offspring is making resources scarce and food is now hard to find.
  • 5: Adaptation
  • Genetic Variation allows for many different species of dinosaurs. Some species have more advantages than the others allowing them to survive better.
  • Evolution Has Occured
  • The larger and slower dinosaurs are much easier for the predators to kill and eat. The smaller and faster dinosaurs are able to use their agility and speed to get away quickly enough to not be killed. In this environment, the faster you are, the better chance you have of not being prayed on.
  • After many years, the population of the bigger, slower dinosaurs dwindled due to their inability to defend themselves very well and their lack of speed. The dinosaurs now carry the trait of being smaller and faster.
  • In this environment specifically, the dominant genetic trait is being a smaller and faster dinosaur. With the predators of this environment in specific, it is very helpful to be fast to get away from the very strong predator. The species who can get away the fastest from this predator in this environment will ultimately survive and they will create offspring.
