One day, Abigail made a paper airplane and decided to fly it outside
The paper airplane got stuck in a tree and Abigail wanted to get the airplane back but didn't know the hypotenuse of the tree and only knew the angle between opposite and hypotenuse
Oh No!
The angle between hypotenuse side and the opposite is 58.9 degrees while the opposite has a side of 7m
She remembered from Ms. Katipunan's math class that she can figure the hypotenuse side out by using sine
Abigail wondered at what angle did she throw the airplane
The hypotenuse side has a height of 8.2m
She knows to solve for the angle (angle t)she will take the adjacent and hypotenuse to figure it out
Using cosine, she knows cos=adj/hypcos(t)=4/8.2cos(t)=0.4878T=cos-1 0.4878T=60.8Therefore, Abigail flew the plane to hit the top of the tree at an angle of 60.8 degrees
Abigail knew the hypotenuse from where she was standing to the top of the tree was 8.2m while the adjacent from her shoes to the bottom of the tree is 4m
Abigail measured the distance between the tree and herself and got a measurement of 4m
oh well!
Abigail realized she won't be able to retrieve her paper airplane and went to go play in her pool
