  • One Major theme of The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street by Rod Serling is that fear and suspicion are destructive.For example,Everybody were arguing and blaming Les Goodman of all this nonsense.This supports the evidence by the situation that is going on Maple Street and the expressions that everyone in the group feel suspicion that is going on around.Another reason is,Steve is trying to defend Les Goodman and from everybody accusing him to convince everybody to stop having a lot of hate for Les.This evidence supports the theme of the story by the attitude and the fearfulness that everybody has toward Les Goodman.Lastly,Steve convinces everybody to stop accusing Les from all this and figure out who is doing the flash on Maple Street.My evidence support the theme of the story because of all the fear that all the characters have for Les Goodman.To sum it all up,this gives good evidence to support are theme of the story by the characters emotions in the story.
