- Exposition
- It's been 20 minutes, where is your dad?
- The night was black as coal , and it made it impossible to see anything as the three boys left the mall, Jake was shivering and complaining to Todd since they were standing waiting for their ride, which looked like it wasn’t coming anytime soon.
- How am I supposed to know, I can’t even get a signal here, let's just walk home, it’s not that far.
- Sure, let's go then.
- Rising Action
- After about 10 minutes, Jake felt something weird,he realized they were being followed while walking home. He told his friends, and he went over to see who it was, and it turned out to be kid new to the area trying to make some friends. His friends insisted on letting him walk be friends with them, but Jake felt something was off with him..
- So the three boys along with Kevin now had been walking home talking, Kevin was friendly to them, however, Jake was still not convinced.”So why did you move here, asked Jake, to which Kevin replied that it was because he was bullied and really mistreated at his old school. After walking for a little longer, they passed a gas station, and Kevin asked the group “Hey, can I use the bathroom real quick?” Todd replied, “Yeah, I’ll show you where it is” and they went inside.
- Kevin then came back, but something was missing, then it struck Jake, not something, but someone. “Where is Todd”, questioned Jake. “Oh, he said his stomach wasn’t feeling well, and he was going to stay back for a while. Jake and Mark were very confused since Todd never mentioned anything about this, but right as they was about to go inside and check,” Hey wait, check your phone”, Kevin told him, and so they checked and he had gotten a text from Todd saying he was going to stay back.
- Minutes passed without anyone saying a word, Jake had goosebumps on his arms from the bad feeling he had about all of this. Then suddenly, out of nowhere came a loud vibration noise, followed by Todd’s ringtone blasting on full sound. Puzzled for a second, they all froze, Jake and Mark looked at each other, and then looked at Kevin, who the song was coming from.
- “Why do you have Todd’s phone” Jake questioned. With no response from Kevin, Jake tackled Kevin and pulled out Todd’s phone from his pocket, revealing Kevin had taken Todd’s phone. “I knew something was wrong” exclaimed Todd as he motioned at Mark to come with him “Let's go back to the gas station,” he said as he and Mark sprinted back.
