- in the afternoon Darry, Soda, and Ponyboy leave the movie theaterto go home

- the conflicts is the war of the socs vs the greasers and their vaule/wealth
- FALLING ACTION
- he johnny didn't die i killed bob not him
- 1:Bob gets killed by Johnny to save Pony from drowning by the socs.2:The church they hide at with kids inside and Johnny gets hurt bad when trying to save them.3:There is a war against the socs and the greaser becasue of bobs death.
- RESOLUTION
- after the fight pony soda and dally come to see johnny and tell him about what happened but when they see him he is very ill and before he goes he tells pony to stay gold.
- after johnny dies pony becomes depressed and trys blaming him self for is death and trys to think johnny isn't dead and he killed bob not johnny
- in the end ponyboy has to write an essay so he writes about what has been happening starting with when I stepped out into the bright sunlight from the darkness of the movie house, I had only two things on my mind: Paul Newman and a ride home.
