Somewhere in the forests of the Indiana Territory, Native chief Tecumseh lectured against the greedy American settlers.
YEAAAAH!
TO WAR!!!
I shall stand beside you, brother!
We must call upon our brethren! IT'S OUR LAND!
1809
Alongside religious leader Prophet, Tecumseh led a provoking campaign to unite all the chiefs and tribes of the East Mississippi.
We will join our brothers in war!
1809-1811
As Techumseh and his brother gained rapid influence, white settlers in the Territory acknowledged the threat that the Shawnee posed.
We must take action first! The troops are already stationed at Prophetstown!
1811
The settlers' findings found their way to the Governor of the Indiana Territory, General William Harrison. Intense quarrels about the course of action followed, with Harrison himself volunteering to lead the forces to battle.
Governor, give me time. I shall negotiate and end this!
Quiet down, you fools! I shall command the troops!
There is no time! We must fight NOW!
1811
Harrison's troops advanced alongside the Tippecanoe River until they reached the Shawnee headquarters in Prophetstown.
1811
What now, brother? We have nothing left.
We have the British! I swear to you, this is not the last of me!
After more than two long hours of close combat in utter darkness, Harrison's men were able to break free of the Natives' forces. They then proceeded to destroy all the Natives' hopes for a Confederacy.
