- Rising actionNag comes into the bathroom trying to kill Teddy’s father and is killed by Rikki.“I will kill the big man and his wife, and the child if I can, and come away quietly.
- ClimaxNagaina tries to kill Teddy and his family. This leads to an epic battle where Rikki follows Nagaina into a hole in the ground.“...very few mongooses, however wise and old they may be, care to follow a cobra into its hole.”
- Rising actionCobras try to attack Rikki, but fail.“He heard her savage hiss as the stroke missed.”
