  • On December 16,1773 340 chests of tea were dumped weighing roughly 46 tons. All of the 3 ships had tea that was dumped in the Boston Harbor. The Sons Of Liberty were carrying axes to smash the crates of tea open. The tea that was now ruin was worth more than $1,700,000.
  • Besides the tea being dumped, nothing was destroyed to any of the three ships. The Sons of Liberty were very careful about how the action was carried out and made sure nothing but the tea was damaged.Afterwards, the participants swept and mopped to make sure everything was back to normal. So,everything but the tea was as usual and in the proper place.
  • The next day,the participants fled Britain to escape arrest for destruction. The only participant arrest was Francis Akeley who was caught and imprisoned. He was the only one caught for the Boston Tea Party.During the Tea Party, there was no violence,no deaths, and no confrontation. This was also the first rebellion against the British rule.
