Blackwater Summary

- Chapter 1- Brodie's cousin Alex came to stay with his family. Brodie tried to be nice to Alex but it was hard for him because he's having a rough time at home. He takes Alex to go swimming in a pond, and Brodie sees his two friends kissing. Alex said to Brodie I thought you said there wasn't going to be anyone here. Then, Brodie's friends started kissing.
- You're going out there?
- They were kissing and I couldn't bear it!
- Chapter 2- Otis and Pauline were on the toadstool laughing. Pauline says she doesn't want to go in the water because it's too cold. Brodie decides to drag her into the water, then Otis and Brodie tug on Pauline like tug-a-war. After that Brodie swam as fast as he could to the shore. Once he saw that they had fallen into the river and the Blackwater was tugging them away he swam to the island to try to save them.
- Chapter 3- Brodie is now on the island and Alex is on the shore with Batman. A truck pulled up somewhere near Alex and Batman, in that truck was Hank who was about to swim to save Brodie. Then, when Hank arrived at the island Brodie go with him and eventually Hank had to carry him back to the shore. When Brodie got on the shore a cop arrived to interrogate Brodie and Alex. Then, Alex lied to get Brodie out of trouble.
- C'mon Brodie!
- Chapter 4- Brodies parents rush to the bank of the pond. Then, they drove him back to their house then carried Brodie into his room. Then Mrs. Doc came to his room and stitched up the gash on his head. Then, she gave Brodie an "M&M" that made him tired. After that, Brodies' mom came into his room. He tried to talk to her but the "M&M" was pulling him towards sleep. Lastly, Alex barges in and tells Brodie that Pauline is dead!
- Chapter 5- Brodie is sitting in bed thinking about Pauline, he decides to go downstairs but then he changes his mind and stops at the railing. Then, eavesdropped on his parent's conversation and thought the person that they were talking to was a policeman. After listening he came down and got introduced by the newspaperman who was best known as Best in the West. Then, he asked Brodie questions about what happened the day that the Blackwater came. After Best left the doorbell rang and on the doorstep was the towels that Pauline and Otis once owned.
