- While the proletariat is a main consumer of sugar in modern society, sugar has been a necessity for all classes since the 19th Century. This event could host all classes and foster our mutual preferences for sugar.

- I believe so. Sugar has also replaced many natural alternatives to sweeteners out of its low cost and higher utility which may explain why there is so much!
