Okay that change isn't too drastic. What is another change?
WHAT! nuns have decided to abandon the children and the sick. What has the church come too?
God chose those places for nuns. We had monasticism.
Well, most nuns have decided to explore callings other than teaching and nursing.
Some nuns weren't called by God to be in schools or hospitals, so they have chosen to explore other ministries and calling.
Vatican II has told us to explore our roots. Our founders weren't monastic, and we were actually using their own gifts and going out in the world. Nuns could speak on big issues like social justice.
This is absolutely crazy. Having a ton of people in charge instead of just one can result in arguments and tension.
Wow. This is a lot of information to process. Who is your superior?
Huh?
Um, actually fellow sister. We don't have superiors anymore. Nuns have decided to change to having group authority.
We thought that a good change would be to change from having one person telling everyone what to do to having group dialogue instead. It brought nuns together.
Nuns have certainly changed. I don't agree with most of the changes. The way things were before brought order and what God wanted for nuns.
Your mindset and perspective need to open. You need to remember that god's true calling for us is to spread his work and teachings no matter where it is. God wants us to not feel like it's a chore to do his work. God doesn't care who is in charge or how we look, as long as we spread his word. Vatican II bringing these changes show how nuns lost their way for a little and needed to realize why they chose this profession in the first place.
