- France had a huge crisis the french was in debt but the upper rich people kept on using money for useless needs and the peasant huge of the population couldn't afford food ex bread and the farmers had small land. the enlightenment brings new ideas they wanted to vote by heads and lower taxes

- people stormed Bastille and the third estate formed the national convention and took the tennis court oath the king and queen were executed

- after the revolution France declared themselves as a republic and the king and queen were overthrown and people got what they need like food and bigger lands

- in saint domingue was made the export of sugar cane a colony of france Haitians were forced to work on sugar plantations the conditions were horrible and if they refused to work they were either whipped or killed
- toussaint L'Ouverture assemble a group of slaves they petition for equality and unfortunately they were denied and they found toussaint L'Ouverture as their leader and when fighting the strategies he had were good but very violent but then the French had abolished slavery. When Napolean wanted to reinstate slavery Toussaint made his own constitution and declared himself as governor for life Later on He was taken by French forces and put in prison,but the former people still fought with Dessalines and gained freedom.
- at the end of haitian slavery was finally abolished and they were finally treated equal and had freedom to do what every they want
