- Ponyboy is one of the main characters of the novel. He was walking home from the movies one day and relizeda red Corvair was following him, so he started running. He then later got jumped.
- The Rumble
- Pony, Johnny, and Dally all went to the drive-in. When they were there, they met a soc Cherry which was a cheerleader. Dally walked away and Pony toled Johnn and Cherry about when he got jumped. After, they were walking Cherry and her friend home and they figured they actually have a lot of things in common. The Soc's then saw them and tried to start a fight, and Pony got slapped for getting home to late.
- Theme
- Later, at the park socs found Ponyboy and Johnny with a blue mustang.Both of them got jumped.One of the socs started drowning Ponyboy, so Johnny had to kill them.They both go to Dally and get a gun, clothes, money, and tells them to hide in a church.They change their hair and the church is on fire after they get done eating out with Dally.
- Summary
- The next day, Johnny was burnt very bad and the boys were considered heros in the newspaper for saving kids in the burning church. Afterwards, Ponyboy and Two-bit go and tell Johnny about the rumble, and he died. Cherry then tells the greasers the rules about the fight. Later in the night the fight begins and the greasers win.
- Pony tells the rest of the greasers about his death. Dally runs off to rob a store and pulls a gun up to the police and gets shot. Pony then passes out becasue of his concusion. Pony went to school and was told to write a theme, so he opens Gone With The Wind and writes about his experiences.
- Ponyboy realizes people are to quick to judge and that Socs and Greasers aren't all that different. Johnny basically taught everyone that life moves quick so enjoy it.
