Losing so many people, especially my father and Prim, was something I had to learn to live with. In the arena, grief made me angry, and that anger kept me fighting. Afterward, it didn’t go away. I still carry it with me, but it’s part of who I am now. Grief doesn’t define me, but it reminds me why I keep going, it's because I promised to survive for the ones I loved.
You experienced significant losses. Your father, your friends, and many others you cared about. How did you cope with these losses, and what role did grief play in your survival, both in the arena and in your life afterward?

What kept me alive was Prim. I promised her I’d come back, and that was all I could think about in the arena. Every time I wanted to give up, I remembered her face and the need to protect her. It wasn’t just about surviving for myself, it was about keeping that promise to her. That kept me going through everything.
Katniss, you’ve faced some of the most impossible situations in the arena. What do you think kept you alive, and what would you say was the most critical factor in your survival?
