Storyboard Text

  • There was a feeling of sadness and anger when reading the beginning of Introduction from a mom.
  • The feeling that no onewants to help your child or believe In them, without giving them a chance , made me think that I would never want my child treated like that.
  • As a future educator a school shouldn't feel like place where a child won't be able to grow and learn. Reading that Gina was succeeding in the new program outside of the country should be a sign that we should be trying better.
  • 1. As a teacher I want to always make sure m y students parents feel heard and seen, when they have a concern or question they should feel welcome to ask me not like it's going to be another.
  • 2. My students should always feel celebrated for their accomplishments, I want to always make sure that parents also know the positives, students accvievements are imporntant, not just what they haven't been able to do.
  • We should be a voice as well, not just leave it up to the parent. Seeing Gina's picture through the years and Mrs.Mirabella actions to make sure Gina always had opportunities, makes me feel like as teachers we should be advocates as well.
  • One final way I can share their voices is by talking about, not just keeping this information for myself or because I had to read and watch it for class. Keeping the conversation going.
