  • In this frame, During King Louis XVI's time, a clear gap arose between the luxury of the royal court and the struggles of commoners. This divide sparked discontent which was fueled by heavy taxes and feudal obligations. It became a catalyst for the French Revolution as ordinary people and commoners sought to break down power structures and create a more fair society.
  • The weight of absolutism is too much. We demand a say in our fate!
  • Representatives from the Third Estate gather on the Tennis Court, challenging the monarchy's power. This led to the National Assembly and a push for a new constitution. The Declaration of the Rights of Man followed after and spread ideas of liberty and equality worldwide. The Tennis Court Oath became a symbol of resistance which inspired movements for democracy and it marked a historic turning point.
  • No turning back! We will break free from the chains of absolute rule!
  • The guillotine beheaded Louis XVI which ended absolute monarchy in France. This marked a shift from centuries old rule which sparked political and social changes. Louis XVI's execution led to wars and the creation of the First French Republic. This historic event continues to influence discussions on democracy, human rights, and power dynamics between the state and its citizens.
  • It's finally the end of an era. The will of the people has dismantled the monarchy's absolute power!
