A state constitution is the governing document of a U.S. state. State constitutions establish certain parts of government for the State, grant these parts with their powers, and deny certain other powers.

So, numerous western Massachusetts farmers rebelled by not letting judges enter the courthouses. Because of this American leaders created the Constitutional Convention which led to the writing of the US Constitution.
