  • A Journey through your Nervous System
  • Hi! I'm skelly! I'll guide you through the nervous system. Even now my brain and spinal cord are hard at work. So Let's get started!
  • Slide: 2
  • 2. REFLEXES
  • Reflexes are bodily responses that don't need the brain to create action and also interneurons are also part in the reflex and has more than one synapse occurrence. How cool is that!
  • Omy gosh!
  • are you okay?
  • Here, you can see Mrs. XieXie who tried to get up from her hospital bed but lost her balance. Luckily, the hero Jamal's quick reflexes caught her in time.
  • Slide: 3
  • 3. NEURONS
  • Next, we'll talk about neurons. Neurons are responsible to send messages to control the human body
  • Here is an ambulance which represents a neuron because it's job is to transport patients to the hospital where they can get treatment, just like what would've happened if the hero Jamal hadn't been quick with he's reflexes.
  • Slide: 4
  • 4. SENSORY NEURONS RESPONSE/STIMULI
  • Oh no! Looks like the hero Jamal wasn't careful and burned his arm a bit, but luckily he reacted quick and moved away in time thanks to his Sensory Neurons.
  • Ouch ouch my arm!!
  • The skin turning red is a reaction to the burn. This is the body's response to the stimuli. This is also called an afferent neuron.
  • Slide: 5
  • The motor or neurons allowed Jamal to initiate his reflexes by carrying the signals away from the brain.
  • 5. NERVE IMPULSES
  • Let's talk about nerve impulses! Nerve impulses send signals across the nervous system
  • Hello Sis! So this happened to me...
  • Mrs. XieXie who feels better, now tries to call her sister, Siomai, to tell her what a hero Jamal was.
  • This is a real life example of nerve impluses, because phone signals work as she calls.
  • Slide: 6
  • Afterwards, Ms. XieXie discussed the events of the day to her friend, and started talking about the Peripheral Nervous System(PNS),
  • 6. PERIPHERAL NERVOUS SYSTEM
  • Nervous system.......
  • Like the spinal cord and ganglia.....
  • It connects the Central Nervous System to organs, limbs, and skin and can also serve as a communication relay between the brain and events.
  • Ahhh I see I see
  • Its amazing right! I hope you learned something in this journey:)
