  • As we can see in this Scene people are using legal mobilization! This group are bringing their issues to the courts ! Such a important topic we covered this semester!
  • Remember when we reviewed what is Justice? Welearned that "Justice is one of the most SOCIAL, ETHICAL, MORAL principles we deal with everyday ("What Is Justice" 1:22)" and then we learned that in the "US social movement activism in roughly the last half century has been increased ( McCammon)"

  • Let's write how to determine citizenship into the constitution so it's more permeant! Considering formally enslaved people need to be included in how to determine citizenship.
  • All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside (US Const. amen XIV) .
  • This scene takes us back a bit... We see how Congress decided to give us Birthright Citizenship!
  • This scene shows us that Birthright citizenship in the US came about as a way of granting citizenship to the large population of formerly enslaved Black people ("Why the US has birthright citizenship").
