The Declaratory Act
Right when we thought we won.
We can tax you whenever we want!
The declaratory act was put in place after the colonists were able to get the British to stop taxing them on stamps and paper. The British were mad so they put an act in place that allowed them to tax the colonists whenever they wanted and tax them for anything. The colonists were happy because they got the British to stop the Stamp act but then they were mad because they started the declaratory act.
