- The story began with a married couple, awiyao and lumnay, who were separating due to their inability to conceive a child despite having been married for many years.
- Even though he still loves his wife, Awiyao is forced to marry someone else. It's because of their tribe's tradition that if a couple can't have a child, they must separate for the guy to find a woman who can bear him a son who can carry on his tribe's legacy,
- Despite her love for her husband, he divorces him for him to find happiness with the woman who could be able to bear him a child.
- On the day of the wedding, Awiyao returned home because he couldn't find Lumay among the dancers, even though Lumay was one of their tribe's best dancers. He discovered Lumnay at their home and the two exchanged messages, reminiscing about the times when they were once a couple, finding it difficult to let go yet still loving each other.

- She moved away from him because she heard a voice calling out to him from outside.
- She got the courage to go to the village leader and express her dissatisfaction with the situation. and went away till lumnay reached the clearing, where she could see the flaming campfire from where she stood.
